Over the past week we have been dedicating time to our foster dogs. We have had a few new dogs coming into care as people from the affected areas are being given respite accommodation for a well deserved break. This mean house checks for potential foster cares, interviewing dogs and coordinating backup care and support. Thus far we have been able to assist every dog we have come into contact with.
We are still supplying kennels, coats and beds as required to those in need, thank you to all of the generous people that have recently supplied us with kennels etc. A huge thank you to New Zealand sewing groups who have been busy sewing fifty dog coats for us to distribute, we are expecting them to arrive in the mail this week and they will be gratefully received by cold and wet dogs!
We have also been busy finding new forever homes for the dogs requiring them, (please see our website for the beautiful dogs for adoption). We have spent a number of weeks working with each of these dogs, carefully readying them for their new homes. Through the careful and patient work of our Dog Listening team these dogs are all ready for their new homes and families.
Next week will require us to again hire a trailer as we have a few orders for large kennels, Lynne and myself will be delivering these in Kinglake plus a number of coats and soft beds. We will keep you updated as to our progress next week.
