Luke and I decided to carry on regardless of the loss of the famous red ute. We bravely hired a trailer neither of us having the first clue how to back one.
Our day included picking up donated kennels and distributing them as we went.
Luke started in Essendon at our storage depot and loaded a timber kennel, he then came across Melbourne and picked me up. Equipped with tarps, dog coats, rope, dog food and more we headed to our next pick up in Thomas Town.
We arrived and a lovely person called John helped load a very smart drum kennel and dog bedding, snooza and more onto the trailer.
However we where now in a small suburban court with cars unfortunately parked all around it.
John thankfully was a skilled backer of trailers and he promptly did a four point turn and had us heading in the right direction.
After a very precise lesson in how to reverse a trailer we were on our way again. Thank you John, we would no doubt still be jack knifing our way around that small court with out his efficient assistance.
We stopped at "The Mountain Ranges Vet Clinic" to leave items that people had ordered. We then continued on to deliver two of the kennels and some dog food to a family moving back into their repaired house in Kinglake.
Extraordinary people are getting on with their lives. Having come to terms with the reality that house's will take a long time to be rebuilt. People are making the most of their circumstances with such no fuss attitudes.
Our last stop was in Warbuton where a very kind lady had donated a timber kennel and dog bed and 2 car harness's.
I have never been to Warbuton and what a beautiful place. Now late and dark we once again had fun when I failed to tell Luke about the last turn and we had to drive until we found a place with a turning circle large enough for us to negotiate a U turn.
We had a fun day and Luke has learnt much about reversing trailers I am sure he will soon be very proficient at the manoeuvres in no time at all.
I unfortunately cant seem to grasp the Your Right is your Left and your Left is your Right concept. This whilst looking over your shoulder in a very long vehicle that has 2 moving parts.
We continue to stay on top of the request's. With your generous support we have been able to meet each and everyone so far.
